Christopher Tierney

An artist-entrepreneur and an explorer at heart, Christopher Tierney’s appreciation and connection to the natural world has always been the effervescent part of his spirit and inspiration. For all his projects, he experiences an indescribable exhilaration when he locks onto a concept and allows the laws of attraction to direct the creative process. “I find the universe can be quite generous at times…and it’s in these moments I feel most alive,” he says.

Christopher discovered the Indiana University wood shop while majoring in biology. During his final semester, he spent most his free time in the carpentry shop designing and fabricating a series of furniture pieces that would earn him a scholarship to the Academy of Art, San Francisco. His studies in Interior Architecture and Design cut the path for his design career, and he formed the design label TIER.

Since, Christopher has led the design and branding for numerous hospitality and residential clients. TIER believes it’s mandatory to be involved in all stages of the design and process, form the brand identity creation through hands-on artisanal finishes. We understand that function should marry form, where our multi-disciplined design approach creates inviting works of art. TIER is excited by the challenge to create atmospheres where people experience a visceral sense of emotion, have meaningful conversation, and grow relationships. With an original style, deep knowledge of craft, and affinity for detail, TIER delivers seamless results across a diverse conceptual range. In addition, Christopher’s experience as proprietor adds a unique value for clients from his thorough perspective as both the designer and the developer. His creative work has been featured in numerous publications, and has been awarded for aesthetic prestige both domestically and internationally.
